Dear Members,

The Westchester/Putnam MATHCOUNTS Competition is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Pace University Campus in Pleasantville. Volunteers are needed to assist in the morning registration, proctoring and grading of exams and the distribution of the awards. Please contact any of the competition coordinators below if you are interested in volunteering your time. The registration begins at 8:00AM and the program concludes around 1:00PM.

MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievements. The Westchester/Putnam Chapter of the NYSSPE is responsible for coordinating and sponsoring the regional competition in February. Top students advance to the State competition in March and ultimately have an opportunity to advance to the National competition in May which is held in Orlando, Florida. The Chapter is also looking for additional sponsors for the program.

If you or your firm is interested in making a donation to help offset the chapter’s costs for hosting 150-200 students, parents and teachers as well as providing awards to each individual participating in the event, please contact any of the chapter coordinators below.
